How many American parents would be on board with the notion of transitioning their child if they were told honestly, “This treatment is experimental, and we don’t have the evidence to support it. In fact, the risks might outweigh the benefits. We simply don’t know.”
Thanks, Kathleen. One of the most distressing things to me about this issue is the way parents are misled as to the evidence behind what they're asked to do to their kids.
Dolly’s brilliant and important article has a number of money shots! Here is my favorite: “Suppose a kid wants to eat only cookies for dinner every night. You agree to give him only cookies for dinner, and then you give him a questionnaire that asks whether he’s pleased. He says yes. That’s the type of research that is done on ‘trans kids’ by pro-transition researchers.”
In all other circumstances, the US left rightly wants us to emulate what other successful developed countries do to help improve the lives of their people. It is aggravating that such an important issue as youth gender medicine is the sole exception!
Well, there's also the exception where we don't follow the fine Swiss example of VENTILATION to improve indoor air quality! (I'm a true ventilation fanatic.)
Thanks so much, Mari! :)
Edited to add: I was so shocked to see you posting mid-day, but then realized...you're in a different time zone at the moment!
Ha! Yes, I’m on US time now! And I agree completely about ventilation. I really think one of the many reasons Switzerland was so successful during the pandemic was how vigilant everyone was about ventilation.
Indeed. And how many more might horrified if they were told that a too common end-point of the "gender affirmation" process is the chemical or surgical castration of their children, is turning them into sexless eunuchs.
Why it seriously chaps my hide to see the too common use of such euphemisms. Like "sex change" -- no one, at least no human changes sex:
Whole bunch of "doctors" should lose their licenses if not be strung up by their "nuts" and left to twist in the wind -- figuratively speaking of course ...

here in new zealand we have free healthcare and are currently 'transing' more kids per head of population than the tavistock did. all taxpayer funded. no information critical of trans ideology ever appears in our media which is now nothing more than government propaganda. for government i really should say WEF.
Yes I hesitated to include Aus/NZ because unlike the others, which are government-driven opinions, the Aus/NZ example was just the Psychiatrists' group.
And, there's no denying that transing kids has happened in all these countries, at a very high rate, which is why many people are taking a second look.
But it's really disappointing to hear that there is not yet a shift toward not "immediately transing kids" in NZ.
Disappointing, but I appreciate you taking the time to share this info here!
Could there be something in NZ's aggressive approach that's related to their being the only other country in the world, aside from the US, that allows direct-to-consumer advertising?
Sadly, that Upton Sinclair quote applies so well to this topic. So many people feel this is potentially dangerous and stay silent out of fear. Thank you for speaking out Dolly.
I kept thinking of your article of Jan 23- about experts pushing trans. Every point could be applied to COVID hysteria, especially the point at the end- "qui bono?"
Except with COVID, a million Americans died. And in every disaster, unscrupulous people do make money - so not saying there was zero "hysteria" -- but the hysteria is very much exaggerated, speaking as someone who saw the hospital gift shop and county fairground used as a patient space. The system here was near collapse.
Yes, it was a scary time. But still I think we should learn a lesson about who controls the message and for what reason.
I’m sure your experience was very different from mine, but also different from the majority of the country. And yet the experts insisted that everything should be treated the same, while Pfizer and tech companies made a ton of money. And ordinary Americans and small businesses were decimated.
And now they use the same rationale- but people will die if you don’t do exactly as we say! Maybe this time we will learn.
Money shot:

I swear, that tipped me toward wanting to retire there. Probably can't afford it, but I can dream of those ventilated spaces.

Thank you for reading and for your kind comments, Christopher.
That was my favorite line too!

I was not aware of this Gabriel! Do you mean specifically of drugs and/medical services? Thanks for sharing this info !

Thank you, Louis!

Definitely in any crisis, companies like Pfizer will take advantage. I was happy to have the vaccines but still….
Thank you very much, ----. I do believe it's playing some role.
